Crystal Expert UTXO Investigator is for professionals who need to conduct in-depth investigations into Bitcoin and other UTXO-based blockchains like Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash etc. In this course, you will learn the principles and concepts behind investigating UTXO-based cryptocurrencies. You will also understand how to apply these concepts in practice using Crystal Expert with real-world examples.

This advanced training teaches professionals how to investigate transactions on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible blockchains, including TRON. Participants will gain hands-on experience analyzing smart contracts, tracing funds across DeFi protocols, and using Crystal Expert for Ethereum investigations. Students will work with real–world cases to understand both the method and rationale behind their approach to an investigation.
Enrollment requirement: All candidates must complete and pass Crystal’s Crypto Fundamentals to enroll.
History, structure, and technical fundamentals of EVM-based chains
Introduction to smart contracts, token standards, creating smart contracts and application of smart contracts (dApps: DEXs bridges, mixing, loans etc)
Tracing methodologies, function calls, and smart contract analysis
Before undertaking any course, students will be required to complete a foundation skills assessment to assist instructing staff with the overall skill and knowledge level of the participants. This score will not constitute any part of a course qualification; however, in order to attend the expert-level courses, students must achieve greater than 80% on this assessment.
Upon completion of the course, students must obtain a minimum score of 80% on a multiple-choice skills assessment questionnaire to be eligible for a qualification. In the case of Expert level courses, students might also be required to perform a practical investigation and submit a written report. The report must meet the standards set by the course directing staff to be considered acceptable.
The students will have access to the Expert version of Crystal for the entire duration of the course.
