Enhanced Notifications, Connections & Tracking

by the Crystal product team

Activity Notifications

We have optimized our Activity Notifications feature, so users can now be notified of changes to balances and/or risk scores for particular addresses through our AML software.

This is an important addition for AML compliance — it helps to consistently monitor the risk of counterparties and notifies the user once it reaches a certain level, improving risk management.

Users also can add a set of addresses that took part in a transaction to visualizations for AML screening. If you are an exchange and have received a payment, you can add all the inputs of the transaction in just one click. If you are an investigator, you can add all outputs of a transaction to monitor their activity in the future (this is important when monitoring stolen funds).

Indirect Connections

We have upgraded the Connections tool for viewing addresses/entities. Now we provide a diagram of all tracked address/entity interactions, and users may switch between Direct Connections and All Connections, which includes both direct and indirect relationships.

This feature analyzes both incoming and outgoing transactions and tracks them until the funds reach another known entity. If two entities interact through intermediate addresses with unknown owners, the interaction will still be included in “Indirect Connections.”

This upgrade is helpful when checking the origin of funds of a user during AML compliance procedures. Using the Connections feature can significantly reduce tracking time. It can also help users understand why an address/entity received a particular risk score.

As we continue to optimize this tool, we will expand the number of tracked transactions and the length of the path to a known entity.

Tracking (for Ethereum)

You can now track funds found in Ethereum Blockchain transactions. Tracking is one of the most helpful features on the platform, especially when starting an investigation into cases of theft where the thief tries to confuse chains of fund transfers.

Our priority is to provide a top-class analytics platform with solutions to make your risk management and compliance procedures easier.
