TON blockchain compliance: trace, monitor, and investigate TON activity in Crystal Expert

Since October 16, 2026, every Crystal user can trace, visualize, and monitor activity on TON (The Open Network) in Crystal Expert, our blockchain analytics tool. That brings TON blockchain compliance into the same daily workflow a team already runs on every other supported chain.

TON is built into Telegram, which puts a crypto wallet inside a messaging app many people already use. It also works differently from the chains most compliance tooling was built for. On TON, one user action can produce several linked transactions, so following the money starts with connecting them. Crystal Expert now makes those connections for TON, and Monitor, Visualization, Cases, and Explorer all work with it the way they work on other chains.

The release is built for compliance teams at VASPs, exchanges, and payment providers, and it gives investigators and regulators the same reach. The sections below cover what a team can do with TON in Crystal Expert, why TON needs dedicated support to trace, and how investigators and regulators put it to use.

Key takeaways

  • Trace, visualize, and monitor TON activity in Crystal Expert with the tools your team uses on every other supported chain.

  • Add a TON address or transaction to Monitor and receive alerts on its activity.

  • Follow one TON action through the linked transactions it produces, with Crystal Expert connecting them for you.

  • Investigators and regulators can map TON connections and build cases in Crystal.

What can compliance teams do with TON in Crystal Expert?

TON now sits in Crystal Expert next to every other supported chain, so a compliance team handles TON addresses and transactions with the tools it already knows and needs no separate process for one network. Three sets of tools work with TON, side by side:

  • Monitor: add a TON address or transaction and receive alerts. Monitor works on TON with full functionality, including real-time alerts and indirect connection detection.

  • Visualization: build interactive graphs of TON activity to trace funds and assemble an investigation.

  • Cases and Explorer: go deeper on a TON investigation by exploring transaction histories, clusters, and counterparties.

The tools behave on TON as they do on any other chain in Crystal, so existing monitoring and investigation habits carry over. Full TON support is enabled for all users.

Why does the TON blockchain need dedicated support to trace?

Crystal Expert takes care of the structure that makes TON hard to follow, so analysts start from a connected trace. TON is asynchronous and message-based. One user action sets off a cascade of linked transactions across the network, and each of those transactions carries its own hash. A payment the user experiences as a single transfer therefore appears on chain as several transactions that belong together.

Tokens add a second layer. On TON they move through a separate contract for each wallet, with no single shared token contract to read from. Working out who actually paid whom means tying the messages and the per-wallet contracts back together, and generic EVM tooling does not do that work. Crystal Expert now does it for TON.

How do investigators and regulators use TON support in Crystal?

The release also covers investigators and regulators. Law enforcement agencies, regulators, and compliance professionals can trace TON transactions, map out connections, and build cases in Crystal, including the multi-step transaction chains that are difficult to follow by hand on TON. For an investigator, a lead that runs through TON can now be worked in Crystal with the same tools used for leads on other supported chains.

Frequently asked questions

Does Crystal support TON?

Yes. Since October 16, 2026, full support for TON (The Open Network) has been enabled for every Crystal user. Teams can monitor, visualize, and investigate TON addresses and transactions in Crystal Expert.

Which Crystal Expert tools work with TON?

All of them: Monitor, Visualization, Cases, and Explorer. A team uses them on TON the same way as on other supported chains, for alerts, interactive graphs, transaction histories, clusters, and counterparties.

How does a team start monitoring TON in Crystal?

Add a TON address or transaction to Monitor in Crystal Expert, and Monitor sends alerts on its activity. TON support is already enabled for all users, so the first step is the same as on any other chain.

Why is TON harder to trace by hand than most chains?

On TON, one user action sets off several linked transactions with separate hashes, and each wallet holds tokens through its own contract. Following a payment means stitching those pieces together, which is the work Crystal Expert does for TON.

Full TON support has been live for every Crystal user since October 16, 2026. A compliance team can add a TON address or transaction to Monitor, trace funds in Visualization, and explore histories, clusters, and counterparties in Cases and Explorer, all in Crystal Expert. Investigators and regulators can follow the same multi-step TON chains when a case leads onto the network.

A practical first step: pick one TON address your team already has open questions about, add it to Monitor, and look at its graph in Visualization.
